Non-Woven Tote Bags

by Brandon Glenn on October 7th, 2009

Many people ask what non-woven bags are. So I’d like to answer that question in a simple way in this blog.

The best way to explain what a non-woven bag is, would be to explain what a woven bag is, first. A woven bag is made from material that must be “woven” together. Typically this material is a fiber. The best example of a woven material is cotton. Cotton canvas tote bags are made from natural fibers that are rolled very thin and woven together to make a tough, durable material.

On the contrast, non-woven bags are made of plastic. These non-woven tote bags can be made from recycled plastics or it could be made from new plastic. Both can be recycled at most recycling centers. Basically, instead of having a woven fabric, the material is pressed very thin to make sheets of material, which is then sewn into bags and other products. Non-woven bags are great for the environment because they are extremely durable and reusable. They can also be made from recycled material and they can be recycled.
