Corn Plastic Bags

by Brandon Glenn on March 3rd, 2009

What’s the thought on Corn Plastic Bags today? They’re great, right!? Corn plastic is made from the oils from the corn plant. The oil is similar to a petroleum oil that we use for gasoline in our cars an to heat our homes. The biggest exception with corn plastic is that it is made from corn! So, it is 100% biodegradable!
It doesn’t take very long at all for a corn plastic bag to decompose when it is in the trash dumps. The corn plastic is very safe for the environment. What’s the drawback? Right now, it takes a lot of corn to make enough plastic. Consequently, the bags are fairly expensive compared to traditional plastic bags. So, to save money, most people get the cheaper, more bio-hazardous bag. Currently, we do have the corn plastic bag available on our website yet, but it can be ordered. Ask us about our corn plastic bags if you’re interested in purchasing some with your logo on them, or you could get them blank if you would rather have that.
