Go Green Together

A lot of people want to venture out and go green. Whatever the motive, people of all sorts are doing it. Children are being taught in school to leave as small as an environmental "foot print" as possible. These steps are great for the environment.

What if you could make twice the impact by going green with someone else? This is a great and practical way to go green; especially if you're just starting to make the change. The idea works simply. Just bounce ideas off your eco-friendly partner about how you can start to reuse typical household items. You can always come up with more ways to become more efficient with your products and even time. You will both come up with great ideas when you're brainstorming together. Even things that seem silly often turn into great sustainable, reusable ideas. These types of ideas will not only saving the environment, but will also be saving money, too.

This works especially well with family members or neighbors. The possibilities are endless as far as who you can go green with. But the main point is that your partner keeps you accountable for your environmental actions, and you keep you partner accountable for their environmental actions. You can both keep an eye on each other to make sure that things are being recycled, reused, composted, etc. You can keep bouncing ideas off of each other about how to go green and how to reuse things.

When you go green with somebody else, it's easier knowing that you're doing it with someone else. This is true for a lot of things in life. You know that there is a friend that is helping you make wise, green choices.

Also, your partner might be able to use things that you cannot reuse. Maybe your partner can use traditional plastic bags more effectively than you can. Possibly, they can create a new material by using a hot iron and sewing a new bag together with the melted fabric. On the other hand, it is possible that your partner has items that they do not have a second use for, but you do. It is really an endless cycle of ideas, sharing, reusing.

The more things that are reused, the better it is for the environment. When purchasing items initially, you should be conscious about whether or not the product can be reused. This idea of going green together is great for people that are just starting to go green as well as the more experienced "greenie." The partnership makes it more fun, enjoyable, and more efficient for ideas. It's easier to do with a partner, just one step at a time.

Reusable Shopping Bags: Why Your Business Should Go Green

So many businesses are going green these days. Is this just a trend, or do people really care about the environment? Either way, if you're a business owner, you can't ignore the fact that American consumers want to shop greener. A lot of people are using reusable shopping bags because they don't feel the need to waste a lot of the plastic bags.

When customers bring their own shopping bags, this is saving the stores money. But it is also an advertisement for the company that purchased them in the first place. The imprinting works as a mobile billboard. While customers are shopping at one store, they are actually advertising for another store as they carry around their reusable tote bag.

So, whether you think that going green is a fad or not, people are buying reusable shopping bags. If you own a business, imprinting on reusable bags is a great way to make sure people are recognizing your company. People are using reusable shopping bags, and noticing your company's logo, which lets everyone know that your company is concerned about the environment.

Reusable shopping bags have made a great impact on the environment just within the past few years. Since their popularity spike, millions of plastic bags have been saved. Some green experts will say that using non-woven shopping bags creates more energy than what they are worth. However, the non-woven bags definitely have cut the use of traditional plastic bags significantly. Also, when using cotton canvas bags, companies don't need to worry about the bags after they are disposed of. The cotton material is naturally biodegradable because it is made from cotton. Cotton is a natural growing biodegradable product that is woven together to make the canvas.

Business owners should consider using reusable shopping bags because it gives them advertising as well as a good image to the public. The bags can simply be given away, or they can be purchased for a minimum price. A great idea that many stores are promoting is to give away the bag when the customers purchase a minimum amount from the store. It encourages people to buy in large quantities from the business as well as promotes your business with the reusable shopping bag.

Eco Friendly Kids Crafts Idea

I was thinking of a good craft for kids that will also start to teach them a little bit about being eco friendly. This idea popped into mind. Allowing children to decorate a cotton drawstring bag. These bags can be purchased blank, and the children can design their little hearts out.

Eco friendly bags can be used for crafts for children. Just allow the kids to take some fabric paint. Kids always enjoy making their own artwork. This will take lots of time, also. Kids enjoy doing this, so they will want to spend lots of time making their design perfect.

Because the bags are made from cotton, they are eco friendly. Since they are made from cotton, they are biodegradable. Cotton is a natural fiber that will decompose once is is disposed of. In a landfill, a cotton bag will take about 2-3 months to decompose, where other plastic bags would take up to hundreds of years to decompose.

The kids really enjoy being able to decorate their own cotton bag. This can be done for different events. A holiday coming up soon is Mother's Day. This craft is great for a Mother's day present. Kids always have fun doing things for their Moms.

The cotton drawstring bags could also be tie-dyed. This would also be another great craft. Just leave the project open for decorating. The more freedom kids have, the more fun they will also have. This can be done with any cotton bag, really. However, the kids can reuse the drawstring bags as backpacks. They will love showing off their design to all their friends at school.
