Go Green Together
A lot of people want to venture out and go green. Whatever the motive, people of all sorts are doing it. Children are being taught in school to leave as small as an environmental "foot print" as possible. These steps are great for the environment.
What if you could make twice the impact by going green with someone else? This is a great and practical way to go green; especially if you're just starting to make the change. The idea works simply. Just bounce ideas off your eco-friendly partner about how you can start to reuse typical household items. You can always come up with more ways to become more efficient with your products and even time. You will both come up with great ideas when you're brainstorming together. Even things that seem silly often turn into great sustainable, reusable ideas. These types of ideas will not only saving the environment, but will also be saving money, too.
This works especially well with family members or neighbors. The possibilities are endless as far as who you can go green with. But the main point is that your partner keeps you accountable for your environmental actions, and you keep you partner accountable for their environmental actions. You can both keep an eye on each other to make sure that things are being recycled, reused, composted, etc. You can keep bouncing ideas off of each other about how to go green and how to reuse things.
When you go green with somebody else, it's easier knowing that you're doing it with someone else. This is true for a lot of things in life. You know that there is a friend that is helping you make wise, green choices.
Also, your partner might be able to use things that you cannot reuse. Maybe your partner can use traditional plastic bags more effectively than you can. Possibly, they can create a new material by using a hot iron and sewing a new bag together with the melted fabric. On the other hand, it is possible that your partner has items that they do not have a second use for, but you do. It is really an endless cycle of ideas, sharing, reusing.
The more things that are reused, the better it is for the environment. When purchasing items initially, you should be conscious about whether or not the product can be reused. This idea of going green together is great for people that are just starting to go green as well as the more experienced "greenie." The partnership makes it more fun, enjoyable, and more efficient for ideas. It's easier to do with a partner, just one step at a time.
